Just to get back in topic I'll say 17 pounds since it is clearly a ridiculously small number.

About 30 lbs. Hogs are composed primarily of head, hide, guts, and bone.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

BTW, there were two sows rolled off the tailgate. What is impressive about this processor is he did not discriminate about about shorting the yield. He hooked up the Midget calculator.

Either one of you two doubters there to pick her up? I don’t know what she weighed at the processor but I’ve picked up plenty of hogs and a few deer in that weight range, she was every bit of it. My youngun’s ain’t that little either.

Not trying to make a bad situation worse

Did you actually weigh the pig or did you guesstimate?

    Serious question.
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

I get asked this about every day. It's more consistent with a deer. With hogs the gut, bones, SKIN, HEAD and FAT vary so much - even between hogs of the same weight - it's about impossible to guess. I would hope you got around 55-65lbs. But could be anywhere from 40-75lbs. You shot it in the head so that helps a ton. Also if it's that red piggy that really don't look like 200lb.

Welp. 200 was conservative. Pics don't do much justice. The processor provided 23 lbs of link sausage and 5 lbs of loin/backstrap. The other sow weighed 130, again a conservative guess, and the processor provided 13 lbs of link sausage and 4 lbs of loin/backstrap. Does that strike any of y'all as reasonable ???

Let's be real conservative. We rolled out no less than 300 lbs of on the hoof hogs and received 45 lbs of meat.

Sounds like they just used the hams to make the sausage, shoulders went to feed the help.
