It's comforting to me to watch a video of the president's son doing a real deal, no bullshit, hard core mountain sheep hunt. Just juxtapose this with the contrived photo ops of the other side with candidates carrying a goose that you know they didn't shoot and a shotgun they wouldn't know how to load. Don Jr. is a real gun guy. He's been pushing the suppressor legalization issue for years now. I'm sure he has some sway with his dad on issues that are important to us.

One of the things that helped win me over to the Trump train was his kids. I still cringe when President Trump speaks and tweets and I didn't really trust him at first but I saw that he had done a very admirable job as a dad. There is no better measure of a person than seeing their progeny. Parents shouldn't always get the credit...some kids turn out good even under horrific parenting but when all of your kids turn out really successful and they still love and give Dad credit, it's a pretty good sign that the fundamentals are in place.

I have some friends that have run into him duck hunting in the Everglades.

10days worth of sheep hunting is enough to break most men.

    Incredible video.

Incredible running shot on that last sheep, too.

PBug, I don't think Jr gives his Dad as much credit for being a good father or having any influence on his outdoor interests. He's talked openly about this in interviews before the MAGA train came to town. He's the one bright spot for outdoor interest in the administration. Hopefully he can stay out of trouble.

    I don’t know when, but I’ll kill a goat before I die.

    Good video.

    Goat or a Sheep??

Care nothing about shooting a Mountain Goat, but I put in for a sheep tag every year.

Meant sheep, but I’d like both.

An ibex hunt is on the list too, haven’t decided on which species/country yet though. I’ve looked into Mongolia a little bit.

I'd go shoot one in New Mexico first. It takes a few years for the damn things to stop stinking enough to be able to stand having one in the house.

I'd love to hunt any of the (goat, ibex, sheep) available. Not likely but I do put in for tags. I don't think I could stomach paying the outfitter's fees for a sheep or goat. I'd also have to bow hunt and tag soup is easier on the stomach than high dollar outfit soup.

I did some research on NM (like an hours worth) a few months ago. Definitely interesting, didn’t even know they were there until a year or two ago. Aoudad is another sheep I’ll likely go after within the next 5 years. Relatively cheap compared to other hunts and free range options in Texas.

Six hours on a daggum horse would break me the first day. Never mind running up and down mountains on foot.
