Default GSP and his first trip to Arkansas

Try not to brag to much but feeling a little proud at the moment. Recently got to go to Arkansas and hunt for a few days and I took my pup just a little over two years old and he did a good job. Noticed a few things still have to work on. At first he had no clue what to do with the cripples still flopping but after a few he got the hang of it. I have hunted him plenty before but still nothing like hunting the timber in Arkansas. He did a great job and also retrieved his first blind while hunting which made me smile. A lot goes into training and this being my first dog I have trained myself made the trip well worth it. All in all was a great trip with a good group of guys and some decent dog work!

If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get the pup? Good looking dog!

Had one that would give you that look if you missed a bird, third miss he'd go back to the truck.

How'd he handle the cold water?
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

He did ok. Never really kept him in the water very long and kept him on his swamp stand. Gave him time in between retrieves to warm back up. Two of the three days had to break up ice so made sure he had plenty of time to dry a little.

That was our best day, but we had a good time. Got to watch and kill a few birds to go along with some good dog work.
