    Default Dot matrix style printer

A software program we use at the office uses a dot matrix style printer and it decides to stop working. It's a long shot but didn't know if anyone around Columbia had one laying around?

We are in the same boat as you.

Our archaic accounting system requires the use of a DOS (yes, I said DOS) based software that is nearly as old as I am.

This software prints to, what I lovingly refer to as, the screamer.

When the screamer gives up the ghost, I pray that our accounting folks will make a move to something that is relevant to the current times.

Where to find dot matrix setup? I have no idea.

I did, however, port a DOS program to a Okidata printer one time.

I cannot recall how I did so.

Do some google-fu. You may luck out.

Call a few of your independent car dealers that have been in business for a few years. Almost sure fire you will find one that was used to print contracts.

The connection on the back is what's gotta match up. If you've got one then you'd be a life saver

Call Independent Pharmacies in the area, Long's or Hawthorne's etc. Somebody has one laying around I assure you. Might be able to get your hands on one.

While you're deciding on the parts, or new printer, check your PM's.

I looked everywhere and cannot find the one that I thought we still had. I will keep looking, but it may have been tossed.

Thanks for checking. I think I've checked everywhere I know to check. Gonna go the ebay route I guess. Hoping to not buy someone else's problem

If you want to give it one more day, I will check one more place. I know we have one, two or three even.
