    Default Best Plastic epoxy?

Any suggestions for a good high strength plastic epoxy?

I broke the handle on the bottom of a chain saw. It's where it connects on the bottom and isn't affecting the operation. They want $80 for the two replacement plastic parts so I figured I might try some epoxy. But obviously it will be subject to alot of vibration.

I know with glue it's pretty easy to get a bond that will be stronger than the wood. Not sure if the same is true of plastic.

Hercules makes a Pro-poxy I've used in the past with no complaints. Their part number is 25-515 I believe.

I'd give some thought to this one...

And then if there is room, I'd cover the epoxied crack with a strip of the clear Gorilla tape.

Added... I didn't see turbo's post, but it looks like his suggestion may be better if you can locate the stuff.

Buy the parts. By the time you epoxy it together, use it a few times, break it again, cuss the repair, try to clean it off and redo it, you'll pay for the parts
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I fully expect this to be the case eventually. But I need to try and cuss a little first before I'm willing to spend $80. Lost my costas yesterday to the bush hog too. It was one of those mornings.

check a stihl repair shop for a saw with busted engine and buy it for parts. Many people would rather walk away than to pay for the diagnostics. I have bought used parts from my local True Value that does small engine repair.
Honey...I'll do it after the season is over.

I had a friend break his handle too. I went on EBay and bought a saw with a locked up engine for less than the price sears wanted to the parts. Had a new clutch and a chain brake too.
