    Default Beretta 390 Reviews

I'm looking at used semi-autos and found a few Beretta 390's. Anyone have some thoughts on this model or suggestions on a another. Trying to not spend a fortune on a gun (SBE, etc...) Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The 390 is a solid gas gun. If you can find a 391, they are just as good.

I have an AL 390 silver mallard.

There are several different models from my understanding, but they are all supposed to be very solid

Best budget gun on the market. Every bit as reliable as a benelli or high end beretta just doesn't have all the frills

What would be considered a good price for a used one? $500-$600?

Really it depends on the specifics of the gun, I think there were some American or Walmart model 390's made for a while and I have seen some of them go for under $500. And as Fishsticker said certain models in good shape with everything included can easily be $700 +

Is there any way to tell the difference between the two (walmart vs original 390)?

Stamping on receiver and barrel, I believe.

I've never heard anything bad aboutnthe Walmart models, I think they are just synthetic stocks and have steel recivers where as the AL 390s are aluminum

There's a reason why people shoot 390s in third world countries.

Get on Armslist and look. There’s quite a few fitting your criteria on there. Negotiate the price down some.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I have one. It's a Silver Mallard and made in Italy. Black synthetic with aluminum receiver AL390. Two barrels 26 and 24 I think.
It may be going in the trading post real real soon.

They are the same mechanically....WM model only came with 3 chokes, no sling mounts, no recoil pad, no hard case, only came in 28" bbl, etc. Beretta continued to sell the 390 to WM once they released the 391.

The only visual difference on the WM 390 is it has a magazine cutoff BUT no bolt lock lever the left hand side...Beretta 390 has both. Also, as i mentioned above, if it doesn't have a recoil pad it came from WM.

3901 is the exact same mechanically as the 390 but has a rounded receiver as opposed to the original angled Beretta receiver.

The AL390 means aluminum receiver. Italian Silver Mallard models bring a few bucks more. Not a ton more but a little more.
