Buice’s hold there value well, sound excellent once mastered, and are easy to get as Billy has many on hand and ready to ship.

I've got 17 buice trumpets ordered. I like to leave them against the tree when I kill a turkey with one. I'm no poet, but walking away from a buice with blood on it is poetic as fuck.

Be patient with the mastering part. Can't go wrong with anything from Billy as these fellas mentioned.

That's a huge load of BS right there. If you've got the acreage they make a huge difference locating birds several hundred yards away. And you don't have to spend a lot on a handmade one, make one using the wingbones of a turkey.

    This.
Get yourself a good hen's wing bones for the perfect pitch. (bearded is preferred, but not mandatory)

There’s another dude from GA that used to make a good one. I thought he had moved to Georgetown, but he must not make very good ones anymore. Haven’t heard much about him lately.
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

Ah...I know who you are talking about. He's a really good-looking fellow that lives in Murrells Inlet. He's just too lazy to build trumpets unless he needs one for himself.

To answer the original question...this will sound strange to some on here, but I acquired a trumpet last year from BlackFalcon that will do it's job really well.

Not trying to promote his calls. Was a fine gentleman and just giving credit where due, always will. Am sure there are plenty of good trumpet call makers out there. Don't be fooled, you can use a trumpet for it all. From a locator call to tree yelps as well as to finish a tom off with it one handed under the shotgun for soft clucks to close the deal. Have done so many a spring. Best rainy day call ever made. May not be the info you were after but there it is.
Agreed. I certainly would not want to hunt without one.

Here is that Black Falcon trumpet that I got last spring on it's first trip to the woods (FMNF). It's all acrylic. It works and was pretty cheap.
