I’ve sent a few messages out and received a couple responses. I can get a 1500 sqft metal building/shell, two basic exterior doors, and pad for $24,000 installed. $22,000 without insulation.

Roughly $16/sqft. Where are you guys getting another $200,000+ to frame it and finish it?

We had many old yellow hunting pics from the early 2000s as well as some cutout magazine pics of child stars. Peepaw was really into Disney.
The shipping container provided the camp a basement, which, when the carpet was pulled away, could be easily accessed. Peepaw used this as kind of an "Underground Railroad" for orientall women. They came from the train and were usually sobbing tears of joy to have a safe place to stay. Seems like yesterday o was dropping raisins down into the hunt camp cellar before we turned dogs out the next morning. All I'm trying to say with hunting camps is keep an open mind and try to help Asians in need. What I wouldn't give for one more raisin drop in the ol bunkhouse!
Wow. Was PeePaw's nickname "Buffalo Bill"? Was his everyday driver a van with tinted windows?

Interior build out is where all the money is. Even at a utilitarian level you will be all in around 50 bucks a foot.

In your first post you said 2500 ft and here you said 1500. Which is it. If you go to 2500 ft and you need 40' trusses, the price will increase a great deal over 30'trusses, or so I'm told.

My first post said 2000’ - 2500’. One of the first companies that responded to me quoted for 1500’ on their own accord so I used that above as it was the only figures I had. With that said, even at 2,000’, I’m not seeing how a no frills camp goes up to $250k. $75k - $150k I can see, but I’m trying to see where $250k even comes into play.

Honestly, anything over $100k in the area my camp is located is likely not worth it. $100,000 goes a long ways here, I could buy a preexisting home (either somewhere new or have it moved to my property), put some money into improvements, and be well under $100,000. For $250,000 I could buy a custom brick home a few miles away that is 3,000sqft+.

Just trying to get realistic figures from people that have done it before.

No desire to own a trailer, even if it’s just a hunting camp.

I am building a 24x32 now...metal pole barn then finished out after the fact....I havent settled on my folks yet but here in my budget

    -Kit barn installed $21k
-HVAC = Split mini system $3300
    -Electrical = $1500
-Framing (not counting kitchen) = $3500
    -Kitchen $4000

    So $33,300 / 768ft = $43 per ft finished

I just built an office / man cave at my place. It is 2990 square feet. 2 car garage. 2 bedrooms upstairs. Big bath room with huge tile shower. All tile floors. Central heat and A/C. Big Closet downstairs. Small kitchenette. 10X24 patio. Brick and vinyl. Stick built. I have slightly under 100K in the whole thing. If you get through Lexington and want to take a look just let me know.

I live in a 50 x 72 pole barn. Half is living space finished out just like a home. Granite counters, tile/hardwood floors, etc. 8' ceilings. The lower half is my shop with 12' ceilings. 2x6 exterior walls on everything. Wife and I did everything but finish concrete and sheetrock. Under $50k. Built it 6 yrs ago.
