    Default Deer Burger for Jerky

I have some deer burger my brother gave me that I was thinking about using to make jerky. I know ideally that you would use just ground meat with no fat added but I was wondering if it's OK to make it out of the regular burger? Any of y'all ever do this? I'm just worried it might be unsafe with too much fat.

If you’re going to make it with burger you need to use burger with no fat. We’ve tried it with fat and it has the tendency of falling apart and crumbling because of the fat. And you can taste the fat it in.

That's what I was afraid of, being able to taste the fat and having a greasy aftertaste. I believe I ain't going to mess with it.

lean lean lean........fat equals not firm and can add a rancid taste also.
