The trout fisheries north of us are getting destroyed.
NC has officially closed the speckled trout fishery until June.

Isn't the first time, won't be the last
Trump cures global warming and y'all still bitch
Saw a picture of floating sheepshead and trout from Charleston. Doesn't look good.
What kind of wussified fish can't take a little cold weather? Do all the trout in the rockies die every winter?
Sadly this is the coldest winter in the history of time and trout will likely be extinct now.
Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.
I guess this is why the ice fishermen up north NEVER catch anything?
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-
Trout and shrimp are going to take a bigggg hit here...
Yankees can't catch fish because they're too busy nose-talking shit about how they catch fish.
There were cold kills in the winter of 14/15 as well but it wasn’t this bad. The commercial fisherman cleaned the creeks in N.C. out with gill nets and people simply didn’t catch many trout until the fall of 16. The fishery was rocking and rolling again this fall but it’s going to take some time to recover. At least the gill nets have been shutdown until after the spawn.

If the fushes is too dense to swim away from the cold then that's just good genetic cleansing.
Glenn.....professional advice please. If we can get these fish quickly enough, and thaw them out slowly, can we save them?

can't save em but you can scoop them up and eat them
Trout being scooped up in the creeks near McClellanville today. Will be frying some of them tomorrow night.
It’s going to have an impact on the SC fishery too. I would love to see some data on the last time a cold snap hit this hard and for this long. I know I have read December of 1989 in a few places.
