Default Small mud motor build kit

Brother has a Briggs animal go cart engine that's 5-6hp size but turns 11.7 hp

Who makes the best short shaft mud unit or the most compatible unit?

Did you call pee paw? I'd figure all questions on shafts and units would be right in his wheel house?!?

    Lol.
You wanting surface drive or like a 72" long tail? (72 is usually the shortest --compared to many long tails small motor kits which run 85"+ mainly) I know that sounds like common sense but there are so many different companies making these frames and in so many sizes

I rolled the dice and bought a mudskipper twister motor(flex core shaft), and put it on the hummer i built. Picked up a 212 predator, did a good bit of modding to it, and it is working out well. The shaft is only 48' and lets me manuever much smaller creeks. I plan on doing a full review with all details when i finish the season, ill post it up. All the research says backwater and PPF kits are tops, they run around the 1k range.

Have used one that is not modded, it was easy to put together and has held up well over the last two years in a cypress swamp.

The surface drive versions are about $2k, the twister is about $500
