This really is the safest solution. Government can listen in on your cell phone calls easily and without a warrant. It's Obama's fault. And that find my phone feature was the phone companies trying to warn us about what the government is already doing. I read about it on the internet. It was a blog by some guy who made the connection.

And don't use a cordless phone with your landline. People can steal those signals as well.

Safest option is a rotary dial phone in the middle hallway with a 200 ft cord.

You could get a second phone, but it's embarrassing when your mom picks up and you have to say mom I'm on the phone. I'd just get a longer cord for the one in the hall.

My mom died last year, assholes. Besides, she lived out West with a sister so a cord wouldn't stretch anyway.

ziggy, no, I'm really not, just refuse to tolerate assholes and punks, of which there are more and more of around here.

Sorry to hear about your mom.

Hope the corded phone gets better signal than the jitterbug.

ziggy, verified the claim above today. It isn't that VZ is throttling the old 3G service. All of the major wireless companies are phasing out of it while they move to 5G. My wife has a 3G flip phone she didn't want to change, and I'm using an old 3G phone since my smart phone crapped out until I had time to decide which new one I was going to mess with. To top it off, the reason we've seen the drop in service quality is that VZ lost the lease on the tower 1/2 mile away a few months ago.

Still will need to buy new phones, just have to decide who's service.

Have you ever bought about a bugle? I mean they’re really practical, never need to be charged and will still carry your message even if you were to drop it and dent it.

Bugles can tell you when to wake up, when to go to bed, as well as when to charge and retreat.

Bugles have a range of up to 1.5 miles.

But let's be honest, dented bugles fucking suck.

I switched to Consumer Cellular from VZ. Saving $100 a month had coverage all the way to MO. As good or better Than VZ around here IMO.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't really considered them, but will check it out.

Depends on the warranty. Does it cover the phone if it’s dented?
