Default A recruiting question for SC fans

Any of you that follow recruiting know about the KJ Henry kid out of NC. He’s a 5 star and all industry sentiment has him headed to Clemson next week.

His father is a RB coach at Charlotte, and there are rumors that SC may hire his father to get his signature. As a SC fan, what are your thoughts?
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

Not an SC fan but this is laughable if true. And if it does happen I hope SC sucks donkey balls for the rest of my life. They did it with Bentley tho and you see how big of a mistake that was.

He wont choose Clemson when Dabo tells him it will be 2-3 years before he can play, now that they are three deep.

He could come to Clemson and play his first year, in the second quarter after they get up by 10 and pull the starters.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-

Will the combination of him and his father's coaching make USC a better team
    1) if checked yes.... seems to meet the objective
    2) if no.... probably bad idea.

It is really pretty simple. The ethical issue if he is hired in role outside of his abilities or for much larger than appropriate salary.

So, in order to sign a high rated player, they are having to pay the parents?
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

You need better sources than a buddy with a sign in to Gamecock Central insiders page.....Comparing Bobby Bentley to this cat s dad is retarded.

But hell in this day and age you never know......I d make sure to hand the Dad the contract AFTER the 5 star signed the LOI tho

Sad how many Clemson fans still worry about what USC does. Some people just can't enjoy success

If you really wanna enjoy recruiting .....go back and look at these kids in 3 or 4 years . Compare what they became vs what they were rated . I dont even see how Clemson competes with the SEC . Damn cheerleader coach .

Works for me. Why would I give a shit how they get him there? I am not the NCAA police, maybe his Dad is a heckuva coach.

i have no idea who this kid is and dont care.

I also dont have a problem signing the dad to coach if he's a decent coach and can get even more out of the kid.

I am, however, very certain that UT is still the laughingstock of college football at this point.

    Just sayin'.

The kid is the one who put it out there very plain in an interview at the Shrine Bowl. Whether any school bites remains to be seen. However his father has been in college football, coaching, for 25+years i believe. Not some car salesman or even HS coach for that matter.

If the kid was that good i wouldn’t give a shit or apologize for giving him some shirts and a whistle to hang around with.

My post wasn’t critical at all. I was just curious what folks thought. It is of interest to me because Clemson gets him if nobody hires his dad, and I want him in orange.

I guess we will see what happens with him and Mays next week.
