I've never seen "holder" listed as a position on a team's starting lineup. Just saying.

yeah...but if you're picking up chicks in a bar, you are DEFINITELY a starter for the clemson football team.

Haha, you will see it on some depth charts, but I know what you are saying. On the other hand, Special Teams is a phase of the game. If you are one of the 11 that runs out for Punt team, PR, KO, KR, PK, you are a starter for that phase. No matter how you look at it. It's not flashy, but you are a starter. Fail to catch the snap and get the ball down and see how quickly everyone notices your "starting position".

They said the same thing about Renfrow

Jake Venables panning out would almost be like a coach's son playing holder and scoring a TD against SC. Jeff Scott says hi
Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right

Can't say I wouldn't play that card myself. Of course, simply stating, "I'm Will Swinney" would be just as effective.

Venables is rated higher than 5 of the 6 in-state commits for USuC. Let that sink in. Maybe Muschamp should offer Brent a job

Everybody missed on Renfrow. Talked to a guy that coached against him in high school. He said Renfrow was playing QB and they couldn't stop him. Said he beat the shit out of them by himself. He was floored nobody offered him. Sure their are a few who slip through the cracks, but statistically speaking stars do matter.
I always go back to Thomas Davis. All Pro 1st round draft pick as a junior. Georgia and Grambling were the only to offer. Hell Pollack was a 3 star that ended up being a 3 time All American (not many of them)

Come one man! Clemson is much more evil than that.

They offered Speirs a baseball scholarship in the '80's knowing that one day he would have a son that could punt. Just to sweeten the pot Coach Ford let him punt a little on the side while he was there.

As for Venables, the ONLY reason Clemson offered a washed up soon to be fired (per JAB) DC from the Big 12 a job was because DABO KNEW that his son would one day be a blue chip Linebacker.

The Clemson booster that gave Herschel the black trans am is still selling cars in Augusta. Guess they were looking down the road for a TE that may be related

its the time value of money man.

Bill's Scholarship was about $3500 a year back in the 80's.

Now they get his kid for FREE! They have saved about $35,000 a year.

    That is an investment.
