    Default 6.4 no boost

Truck came in with no boost, fumes, and heat coming into cab.

    The culprit:

Cab removed you can see the commonly cracked up pipe. Went ahead and done a full EGR delete and was able to install updated up pipes without the EGR provision crap. Not to mention they are a lot cheaper than buying factory replacement pipes.

My truck has lost boost. Hope it's not injectors. I got a leaking fuel filter head could that have anything to do with it? By the way got the grease in the fittings had to take the tire off.

Replace the fuel filter head/primer bulb and see what happens. It’s not causing the low boost but the symptoms it could cause would make you think so.

10/4 can this problem cause white hazing smoke? Fuel air ratio problem? I have no clue what I'm talking about lol

Mine had very little boost just a few weeks ago. Changed the fuel filters and it's running right again.

I need to find the spare coin to delete all that other shit.

Go to Diesel Logic and get the master set that comes with the injection pump. I think it’s $1700.00. Also get the injector line set.

I’d check the the balance rate of injectors first to make certain.

No, you will have to use a modern scanner or GM tech 2.

A turbo is driven by exhaust. More fuel causes more exhaust which gives more boost. Hence why you have more boost as you accelerate. There are no fuel lines going to the turbo. A deprived engine of fuel will have sluggish symptoms but not boost issues per say.

    Hmm...

It was sluggish and the boost wouldn't barely go past 1/4.

After the fuel filter change (and the EGT sensor change) it ran normal again.

Maybe it was the EGT holding it back and the fuel filter just helped out a hair?

Those cracked up pipes were allowing the fed exhaust to spool turbo to escape. That caused low boost. Harder you accelerate the more exhaust that escaped.

A bad EGT or high exhaust gas temps will cause low power. But you have to have fuel to have high exhaust gas temps.
