Default Glenn .... deer drag tutelage, please

A while back, you posted a pic of a dear deerah that you had prepped for dragging by running a stick through her nose behind her nostrils. That intrigues me. Any chance of a lesson? I have a game cart that always seems to be somewhere else, and all of the sudden I find myself having to drag more.

That was a staged photo and is pure bullshit. He writes 400yd Deer Drag on the white board then "10....5...4...........GO!".

I stole that method, with permission, from Rebel Yell.

Cut you a green stick. Sweetgum about 1-2" in diameter works. Take your knife, blade facing the back of the head, and jab a hole in the frenulum about a half inch or so back from the front of the nose. Run that stick through there and you got a handle for your slick heads.

For long drags I just loop my safety line around the neck and clip the ends to the lineman's rings on my safety harness and take off walking.

For long drags? Isn't that why you have 19 kids?

Yes, to hold the knife while cutting the stick.

shoot sookies in convenient areas accessible by buggy or 4 wheeler. Shoot a good buck wherever you can, and drive down the streets of greenwood and get a couple of freeloaders.....they are overrun with freeloaders....

    They will help you load....for.........

Yeah on short drags, longer drags take 2 or 3 minutes to run a sweet gum through the nose. Dragging by the the front legs and a flopping head is a pain. On a road bed tie her off to a your safety harness and drag. SC needs a better hunter ed course.
