Default Poll-Bundy trial is underway- where do you stand

Lets throw out the 240 million pages of federal law and regulations and take this back to the Constitution

The defendants state they were protecting their god given rights, the Feds say it was a conspiracy to attack and interfere with Federal agents.

What side do you pick- no middle ground

Neither. Both were wrong. It was a situation of an overreaching government and some idiots who think everything is theirs. There was no win in the whole deal.

Everything I've read seems like the Government especial the judge has only allowed the governments side to be told. They have had 6 cases so far and only 2 were convictions and they were to lesser charges not the main charge.

The judge made the guy who had the rifle hanging out in the famous video get off the stand. He kept trying to answer the question and the judge said he was going out of his way to tell what she didn't want told....

One interview given by a courtroom attendee said the judge need to be drug out by her ankles and thrown in a jail cell. She was worse than a politician.

Apparently the jurors are picking up on this and finding the accused not guilty!

I'm with Ron Paul why is the BLM even armed like a hunter killer team in Iraq in the first place? Maybe a shotgun to dispatch a snake here and there and 1 rifle in a central location with 2 bullets to put down a rough bear, but they have no business being armed like they were.

Was buddy wrong for not paying the grazing fee? I don't know depends on how you look at that. Was he wrong for using force to detour the federal government from taking his property? HELL NO!
Why did the combat kids just say whoa chain of command this is stupid we are not about to get into a show down at the ok corral over some stupid cows and kill a bunch of fellow Americans!
Most of those trigger jockeys looked like they wanted to kill the cows and some looked like killing a few ranchers would have been just like back in wild west bo!
    Yup, he's crazy...

    This.

The federal government has to much power, and we the people have allowed it by looking the other way because it didn't directly effect us.

Bundy is an arrogant asshole that thinks he can do and take whatever he wants when he wants, regardless of the consequences to others.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is,
as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.

BS. Grazing fees are very, very cheap. While other ranchers pay theirs every year, Bundy refuses, cooking up some hogwash about not recognizing federal ownership of lands. Even if he is right, which he isn't, that position doesn't address the question of "if the federal government doesn't own it, why does that mean he does?" So he starts spewing some crap about his family running that land for 150 years, so that's why its his. Never mind the crystal clear fact that common law going back to the Magna Carta does not recognize adverse possession against the state. All of this was litigated in court. He has millions in judgments against him, and has been ordered to remove his cattle. Most certainly so that some law abiding rancher can use the range. So, when he ignores a court order and calls up an anti-government militia to run cover for him, what should be done? Screw him.

While I question his right to graze that land regardless of deed, I do feel fairly confident that the BLM will not allow another rancher to utilize that land. The BLM is not very livestock friendly anymore.

Ron Paul nailed it 20 years ago. Too many Federal Agencies are militarized and armed beyond the scope of their mission. He saw it 20 years ago and the arming of these agencies has only proliferated further.

    http://www.dailywire.com/news/6713/p...ien#exit-modal

For those conspiracy-minded people who think the U.S. government is out to get them, here’s some ammunition they could use: the arming of federal government employees now shows the number of non-Defense Department federal officers carrying firearms (200,000) now exceeds the number of U.S. Marines (182,000)

That shocking statistic comes courtesy of a Wall Street Journal op-ed penned by former Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn and Adam Andrzejewski the founder and CEO of OpenTheBooks.com.

The spectrum of agencies whose employees are armed is cause for real concern. The authors note that IRS agents have access to AR-15 military-style rifles, Health and Human Services “Special Office of Inspector General Agents” have been trained by the Army’s Special Forces contractors, and the Department of Veterans Affairs boats 3,700 armed employees.

According to the op-ed, federal officers with arrest-and-firearm authority numbered 74, 500 in 1996; over 200,000 exist today. As the authors ask, “What exactly is the Obama administration up to?”

On Friday, the authors’ organization, American Transparency, will publish its OpenTheBooks.com oversight report, which will enumerate “federal purchases of guns, ammunition and military-style equipment by seemingly bureaucratic federal agencies.” The authors write, “During a nine-year period through 2014, we found 67 agencies unaffiliated with the Department of Defense spent $1.48 billion on guns and ammo. Of that total, $335.1 million was spent by agencies traditionally viewed as regulatory or administrative, such as the Smithsonian Institution and the U.S. Mint.”

Here are some more staggering statistics: between 2005 and 2014, the IRS spent $11 million on guns, ammunition and military-style equipment; the Department of Veterans Affairs spent $11.66 million, including over $200,000 on night-vision equipment, $2.3 million for body armor, over $2 million on guns, and $3.6 million for ammunition; The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service “spent $4.77 million purchasing shotguns, .308 caliber rifles, night-vision goggles, propane cannons, liquid explosives, pyro supplies, buckshot, LP gas cannons, drones, remote-control helicopters, thermal cameras, military waterproof thermal infrared scopes and more.”

There’s more: The Environmental Protection Agency spent $3.1 million on guns, ammunition and military-style equipment; The Food and Drug Administration has 183 heavily armed “special agents.”

And more: the Small Business Administration, Social Security Administration, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Education Department, Energy Department, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, National Institute of Standards and Technology have all increased their arsenals.

Meanwhile, the Obama Administration is using the Orlando massacre as one more way to encourage the populace to disarm itself.

SW and Scattershot- thanks for those finds and posts

This topic and trial is being basically covered up by the Govt and the mainstream media. Unless you look for it- you won't see it being covered and when it is it primarily parrots the Govt statements

One additional issue- we all understand the thin blue line and the protect their own mind set when an officer is accused of misconduct and there is a good reason for it's existence.
For the head of the BLM police that led this fiasco to be removed from his position and brought up on charges shows how far over the line he and his officers stepped.

Concerning grazing rights- one of the BLM's mottos is "cow free"- this goes beyond grazing rights and if you look into what has been going on with the BLM in the past 20 years you will also find many cases of the agency using strong arm and coercion tactics to force landowners to relinquish their water rights and move off of their land. This goes far beyond the Bundys

Can you cite an example of an actual landowner
Being forced off their own land?

forced off by govt policy changes which economically forced a move- sure, give me a minute

this happens all the time with regulatory changes- I lost an awesome career due to military downsizing-I'll be fair, I could have transferred but didn't want to move hundreds of miles away from my son, so I invested all I had into a new line of work and then lost the resulting million dollar a year income stream when our state govt shut down video poker.

Link on the way about BLM doing the same to ranchers

And, he'd disarm himself before he came in my house or he wouldn't come in.
