Default Snow Geese in the upstate?

Anyone else seeing them? I was quite surprised to see a group of 20-30 today flying. First time I have seen up here ever.

I’ve seen snows in Anderson before. It was about 12 year ago though.

I would expect Anderson and areas with bigger bodies of water. But not flying over the shops at green ridge on woodruff road. Anyways, I thought it was cool

I swear I heard a specklebelly in a flock of Canada geese a few nights ago in the deer stand. It was a short call and high pitched. I spotted a speck in a swamp nearby two years ago.

See a few snows every year, watched 2 swans dry feed in a field half mile from my house for about 2 weeks last year, scared 2 specks out of a swamp one morning a while back. On that same cold front the swans came in, there was about 15 sandhill cranes feeding on a cut bean field not far from them. Never surprised at what a north wind blows in.

I was going to say your report sounds similar to mine. I saw a group of about 10 Sandhills or something that looks identical to them right after we had the full moon in Chesterfield.

The next week, in the same spot, I bet I probably saw 60+ mallards fly out of Thompson Creek at the bridge on hwy 1 and hwy 52.

Ive decoyed swans, shot a snow, seen snows every year for the past 10 in Anderson county. There are a couple snows off Fairview rd right now in Gville county. They aren’t that abnormal believe it or not. I use to see them every couple hunts when i hunted public.

I kilt a snow many years ago within two miles of Lexington HS, in the pond that's right next to the corn maze, so I'm not surprised they are up there. Sucker was flying with a bunch of Canadas.

We'd see them high and moving every year in Clemson. There were always 2 that stayed on the horse farm, but I never could find where they went when they left.

We had to hold off on two Ross geese in a group of Canadas in September in the Pee Dee. That was pretty tough. I think they became residents when none of the Canada geese they hung out with left in the spring before.

I’ve heard specs twice now while deer hunting in Fairfield Co....first time I thought I was crazy telling my buddy about it.....the other night confirmed what I heard the first time....unmistakable sound. Both times at dusk....first time was 4 years ago.

Seen snows more than a few times on the coast....killed one back in 2012 on a popular river.
