When I got my .300, I bought some of the Sako Super Hammerhead 180grn. They're accurate out of the gun but, that is what Sako bases their guarantee on. Haven't killed anything with it yet but, I doubt it's an issue when I get the shot. One thing I don't like is they seem to be loaded light with a MV of about 2850fps when my load books give me a good bit more. Going to play around after the season and see if I can get a load worked up with the 165grn Accubonds.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Don’t have the manual in front of me, what twist rate does the 210 need in a .300wm?

1:10 would work if pushed the bullets fast enough. 1:11 is suggested.

    Here’s what Berger’s website says for the 210VLD http://buybergerbullets.3dcartstores...ting_p_91.html

Visor Guy where are you located? You’re more than welcome to swing by and grab a few of the 210VLD’s to try out. That way you don’t have to go buy a full box.

I had a hard time with the VLD’s in my .243 with the 1:9 1/8 twist. Called Berger and they said to try the Classic Hunter instead as the minimum they suggested in the 6mm was 1:8. Loaded up a few and tested, the group went from 2” to 1” or a little less.

I wonder if the .30 cal follows the same line where the CH would shoot out of a 1:11 where the VLD isn’t optimum.

Loaded some 168gr classic hunter for my daughter’s 7mm Rem Mag. Wasn’t really impressed with the group 1”-1 1/4”. That’s plenty good for what she’ll be doing, so I’m not stressing over it.

I actually had it backwards. 1:11 if you push them fast enough, 1:10 is suggested.
