well the land that 5 of us good buddies hunt we implemented a 3.5 yr old or 100" rule and its been working good. I started getting this deer on cam about 3 weeks ago and started hunting him hard when he showed up on cam a few days ago during the day.. today was a last min decision to go and when I got to where I park the farmer had started cutting beans about 175 yds from the stand, i shook my head and said I'm here im going to hunt, got to the stand and maybe had a cob of corn between the 2 piles I had (just keeping the does in the area) well I thought shit combines and no corn. about 15 mins into my hunt a group of cows came over to check me out ( stand bordered a cow pasture) by this time I was just laughing at the things that had gone wrong. But I had a 3.5 yrd old 9 pt come out and nibble on some kernels of corn that were left then a 4 pt on the other pile. In church today my paster preached on giving thanks for the little things in life, so with these 2 bucks out early I looked up and gave a little thanks to the lord for letting me see these 2 deer. 5 mins later this guy comes down wind of the corn pile scent checking and I dropped him in the lane at 75 yds . right after the shot I looked up and gave a head nod to the man above.
