To me, Benelli makes the best semi-auto shotguns on the market. Granted, I have had Benelli shotguns stop running in a dove field, but I can break it down in my lap, in minutes, and get it running again. The stoppage has always been a feather which I shoved in the action with blood soaked fingers while reloading.

MKW-Today was one of those days. It was an all out brawl. Birds flew constant for 30 minutes straight between 2:45 and 3:15. Both of my Benelli's worked flawlessly. The SB3 and the M2 20.

Nothing better than those good bird shoots.

I can't do the whole B gun thing. I just bought a Remington v3 12ga. If you're not familiar it's the 3" version of the Versa Max. Kinda what the M2 is to the SBE. Same port system but with no spring in the stock to get rusty and break. I'll give ya some feedback soon as I get it and put some rounds thru it.

Actually, they used a shit metal spring in them for a few years which caused the guy from Sure Cycle to make a bunch of money. Once they went to high quality inertia springs, the problems ceased to exist.

How reliable is the M1? Mine is on it's third season with the firing pin spring broken in half. Never misfired once in Canada last month. I will probably send it back to the factory in February for a makeover...

Everyone should own a Remington 870 or two.

I'm not read yet, as I've not set aside any real "play money", but again, I appreciate all the input.

Learning differences in models (3" vs 3.5") has been helpful; I don't think I necessarily need 3.5", but it could never hurt. My other holdback is price... Again, wrapping my head around $1,500 for a shotgun is mind-boggling.

    I appreciate the PM's I've gotten, too.

You can certainly get a nice, used Benelli for less tha 1k. I recently bought a BNIB Benelli Montefeltro 20ga for $800.

Just bought a v3 for $450. It was worth a shot at that price.
