Rhett, hate to read this. I am glad to have met Costa when we picked up our pup. I am proud to have his blood in the lines. He is from thor x grace.

    RIP

We had a good time training every once in a while with Costa........hard to believe Costa is gone and Woody will be 12 in a few weeks.

    Time flies.

I never had the honor of sharing a blind with you and Costa, but I do recall the numerous times we crossed paths and he was at your side. Whether it be at a Delta event or an expo at Sportsman's Warehouse. He was a very well-behaved, obedient dog which is strongly evident of a very good trainer. When I came to own a brown lab Costa was who I wanted Max to be when he grew up, regarding both discipline and retrieving ability. But Max had more instinct than I ever did the ability to train him and maximize it, so it never developed into anything close to what Costa was.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

RIP Costa. I was lucky to share a couple hunts with him in my early hunting days as well. I can still hear Rhett "Costaaa!!"

Man it is tough to lose a dog, especially a great one. They just don't live long enough. Hope he and my dog Grits are retrieving birds all over doggie Heaven.

Talk about a post I never wanted to read. Passed several litters hoping to get a puppy off Costa's line. So glad I did. Costa had something really special about him. He was THE dog. I know he is happy to wait for you on the other side Rhett. Can't wish you enough mercy as I know you have a big dog shaped hole right now. Thank you for everything.

Dang it, I'm sorry Rhett. It's crazy to look back at hard times like this and really understand did you teach Costa or did he teach you? A bond between a man and his dog is something never to be broken. God speed Costa, may your legacy live on!
