    If I remember correctly there are an estimated population of 300 in those 3 coastal counties. You sir are among a very few of those whom have killed a coastal bear legally. Congrats!

    I'm guessing taking a bear is only legal in the few upstate counties and the coastal area?

    Not sure about the coast, but in the Upstate its only legal in Oconee, Pickens, and Greenville counties, above Hwy. 11.

    I'm glad I killed him in home state on my home turf. I don't think I'll kill another, they're cool animals and I enjoy them being around. Here's a better pic, that does him justice. He was a magnificent animal. I Spoke to the biologists today and she said that was the 11th taken in the coastal zone. A 500 lbervwas killed in Gtown last week.

    DNR put one down in Johnsonville last week. It was roaming around in town and appeared to be wounded.
