    Crazy Canada trip this year. The mallards were feeding on grass shrimp, instead of grain, which is a behavior that we had never encountered. You would see 200 greenheads in a small grassy 1/8th acre mudhole, imitating gadwall. They would literally be puking them up when the dogs brought them back. Not sure what this means, but it was over when this cold front swooped in, snowed, and froze up all of the potholes, sending the ducks to the barren dry lands South of the border. We had a great trip and hammered them as usual, just in a different way than we usually hunt. Thousands of miles of scouting between us, paid off. One of our crew got very lucky on his last hunt of the trip...

    I didn't take the pic. We got in a huge wreck about 10 days before we were set to leave when a car thief pulled out in front of us in an Expedition on Bluff Road . We had little hope of getting the truck fixed by blast off, but the great folks at Broad River Paint and Body, called and said that they had actually pulled it off. We ran down to Columbia, grabbed the truck, turned around, and threw our shit in the truck. It was somewhere around Paducah that I realized I had forgotten my camera case. Hell I forgot my knife...

    That’s awesome. Whs the green band an oil spill band? If not...what were the bands? I’ve never heard of the oil spill band thing. It would be a great name for a rock band tho.

    I thought that’s what fresh birds do, eat green shit and throw up then move to the grain? Looks like an awesome trip. Already ready for next year.
