    Default Getting a Trailer title

I sold my boat last week. The boat has been in sC since purchase new. I am the 2nd owner with titles on the boy and motor. The individual that purchased the boat took it back to PA and is running into issues with titling a trailer that has never had a title.

Any advice how I can get a title? He has a bill of sale for the trailer but they are not accepting it

Do you or original owner have the trailer MSO from manufacturer?

Can get harry if not....especially if he got a loan.

    It sucks.

He bought it without a title.

If you don't have certificate of origin, he's in a tough spot.

Find the original owner and see if he can get a duplicate title from the DMV on the trailer.

Some states will issue you a title if you can put a serial # on it ....and prove it.

Heck you cashed the check, gave the check writer the titles, sounds like his problem not yours.

Tell him you got somebody that’ll buy it if he has to get a new one.

Troopers in SC do whats called a "VIN verification" and once that form is filled out, the trailer can be titled. Get the VIN, fill out the paper and ill have someone sign it. Get the SC title then mail it to him.....Its a thought

Well then, quit looking in the mirror, and turn the exhaust fan on in the bathroom.

My FIL had the same problem when he sold his boat to a guy in Illinois. It was such a pain in the ass the guy took the trailer to Wisconsin, sold it and bought a new one with a title.
