    Default Help From Binocular Experts

I have a friend that works at a business who can get me 50% off of certain binoculars. I can choose from the following:

    1.) Nikon Monarch 7
2.) Meopta Mesostar B1 Series HD
    3.) Nikon Monarch HD
    4.) Leuopold Bx-5 Santiam HD.

    I want a 10x42 or 12x50. What should I choose?

I want to spend around $700 or less. I might spend a little more if it is worth the money.

get 10x42. the 12 magnification is harder to hold still if you don't have a steady rest while looking thru them. good all around binoculars. i have never held any of those, but I would go Leupold or Meopta HD lenses

10 x 42 definitely. I have a pair of Cabela's Euro HD 10x42 that were made by Meopta and they are incredible. The cost was around $1200 but I got them free with my points from their Visa card. Great hunting binoculars. Cabela's has switched brands and do not carry these anymore.

    Here's my main pair...

They've been perfect. The biggest advantage is, in my opinion, that they go from near focus to far focus with one turn of the focus ring. In other words, they are very quick to get on focus, especially if you use them one-handed.
