    you snooze you lose

    thanks guys.

its interesting to me. every kid is different. I'm not telling people how to parent bc I sure as shit dont know what I'm doing but I'm glad I haven't pushed my kids into hunting. If its in them, it will come out. I have watched another member's kid miss so many deer at my place I cant help but ask if its the right time for him to be the shooter. Wounded/dead deer littering the woods.... anyway one of mine wanted to shoot a deer when young. I let him. he missed once then shot a fair number of them. grew up some and now wants one with the bow. too busy to get out in the woods as a Jr in high school, it seems. other son could care less but got a little older and wanted to shoot one to cross it off his list. he shot one and has never shot another one. Enter daughter. She likes the out of doors. Loves to fish. could care less about being the shooter on a deer hunt. really just wants me to call her when we blood trail one, but now she wanted to be a part of the whole process. off we go. Her PopPop was watching, that's for sure. I'm glad she "gets it" when it comes to that jacket, the rifle, and why we chose the field we did. Kinda like Rh's post...I love it when a plan comes together. We were blessed that morning. I can still hear her excited whisper when she saw the first drop of blood. We said a nice prayer and struggled to load that SOB into the Mule. She was a big part of cleaning it. Nothing bothers her. Her final question was : "Can we make liver pudding?."

Hard not to like that kid...even if she's mine.

    Good job Toofer.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Every time I decide I just don't like you, you go and post something like this and I realize that you really are ok, even if you try really hard to convince us otherwise sometimes. Great job with all of the little'uns. Sounds like you know more than most about parenting, even if you don't realize it.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. -Tecumseh-
