    Default Shotgun Scopes

Maybe this is a dumb question, but, how do you sight in and zero a scope on a shotgun? If I was shooting slugs, I can understand how. But shooting shells where there is a pattern, how is that done?
Its only going to be a 1.5x or 2x scope with a red/green dot.

Use the center of the pattern as the point to adjust. Basically the same as if shooting a single projectile.

The way I've done it is to shoot three rounds at the same Point Of Aim (POA) from whatever distance you want to be zeroed at. I've normally used 30 yds. Then find the center point of the densest pattern of holes and adjust your reticle/dot to that point. Make sure you disregard any holes made by the wad.

Put your turkey choke in and shoot some bird shot at approx 15 yards into some sheets of card board or construction paper. Make your adjustments and then check with your hunting load around 20-30 yards.
