Have any of you ever used coots as confidence decoys?

Absolutely. My spread consists of 5-6 coots, a heron, 2 pink flamingos, and about 3 mallards decoys painted white. They are confident as hell when they land in my spread.

I'll be nice. Yes, when we used to diver hunt with big spreads on open water we used a lot of coots, raft them up. I wouldn't call them a confidence decoy though. a heron, if you are into that kind of stuff, is a confidence decoy. Coots are just decoys, IMO, although I'm sure someone will disagree.

Coots, herons, flamingos, I wouldn't share my spread details with 16k of my competitors if you paid me.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Small milk jug painted black, and there are times where they help with the elusive ringer in big water.

If that was the only option I had for duck hunting, I can say with complete certainty I would never go again.
