    Default Electric Bikes

Does anybody use an electric bike for hunting/pulling out deer? Are they legal on public land?

Any area closed to motorized vehicles would include an electric bike.
I watched a fat guy pull a deer out with a PW50 on WMA. That shit was funny. He got busted shortly thereafter for baiting and the bike is why the green jeans were watching him.

I bought a Rambo electric bike before turkey season and have used it for turkey and deer hunting a lot. I bought the 750W model from Culpepper Ace Hardware outside of Augusta. They gave me a hell of a deal on a package with fenders and a cart that is super nice and will haul 300 pounds of deer, firewood, pig, etc. It lets me get from point A to point B very quickly, totally quiet, and leave no scent like walking in. The neat thing is that you can just pedal if you want. It has a 750W Samsung electric battery and will go up to 22 MPH for close to 20 miles on a full charge. It will easily climb steep hills and go where 4 wheelers won't with no noise. Say what you want, but it is one of the best investments I have made in hunting. I am 65 years old and have a total knee and shoulder replacement so this is the ticket for me.

Also, I do not hunt WMA anymore but I have been told that if they are 750W or less there is no problem on federal land but not sure about state land.

glenn and i met this old hippie out in Tn last year that had one. he used it to get around where his subaru wouldnt, or couldnt go. pretty cool rig. he was probably late 60s and said it changed his ability to hunt back away from the crowds and roads.

I'd support the idea of allowing people over 65 using them on public land.

Of course there would be no way to enforce it and no telling what will be considered an "electric bicycle" in 5-10 years.

in all seriousness... say you go deep with the bike and kill one, how are you getting it out? id imagine youd have to pack it out quartered up, or leave the bike and haul the deer?
It may be lonely at the top, but its a bitch at the bottom...

Hey now---I resemble that remark. I wake up every morning with a new pain somewhere but like the Energizer Bunny I keep on ticking.

If you do kill one, like I said, you can get a cart from them that hooks up with one bolt to the back luggage rack that will haul up to 300 pounds. It is very light and well made and could easily be used by itself to help you cart one out of the woods. I promise you guys, this thing is the cat's meow.
