    Default Carolina Inn in Denmark

Looking for a place to stay close to our club. Anybody have any red flags on this place? It's close, but I am a bit skeert of a bedbug stampede at 3 AM. But it looks clean from the outside.

Stay in a tent. I wouldn't trust my life at a motel/hotel in Denmark.

You didn't think anyone would actually think that's a good idea did you?

From Columbia, I20 to Augusta, Savannah River to 95 to 26 back up to Columbia...just not sure there are many hotels/motels in that corridor, out side of Cola/Lex of course, that I'd stay in. Hell...even Augusta is tricky.

Realistically, the property is almost exactly 70 minutes drive from my house, no matter what I do. For a single sit, it's not bad, but sitting the evening, driving home, then back in the pre-dawn wears me down some days.

You need a pop up, generator, TV, antenna, and a grill.

I used to travel to hospitals for work. They were mostly small, municipal/county healthcare facilities. I would be there for two or three days at a time. I used to be a champ at finding habitable places to stay in some remote places. There are none in that area. Since you're in Lexington, your best bet is to do what reeltight suggests, or just drive back and forth.

Stay in Denmark? Umm no thanks. I feel weird buying a bottled drink there. It's a strange place.

It's not necessarily about cleanliness, it's about safety. When the locals start getting restless around 2:00 or 3:00, you aren't going back to sleep.

    But it's also about cleanliness.

My older brother is likely to be the most common utilizer - his health wears him down doing a lot of traveling. He actually discussed trying to find a dependable local with a garage apartment or something. The land owners where we hunt don't allow camping. I HAVE used a solar shower to clean up before getting on the stand. That's about it. I'm also looking into staying in a cabin at Barnwell SP, but it's booked up a lot the times I wanna go.

I can drive back and forth.

Just sleep in your truck. I have slept in mine many times.

I'd STAY IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK WITH A GENERATOR BEFORE I'D PAY MONEY FOR A HOTEL IN DENMARK. Hotels in rural places have become magnets for thieves and folk looking to strong arm someone.

Try the Winton Inn in Barnwell before you give up. Little nicer and much better surroundings.
