We had one . Thats the nicest thing I can say . Only Labs or drahts for me . Might consider a Chessie one day . To each his own . I dont understand the fascination with the spaniels .
I used to drink like a fish and run like a dog

    Just get you a pit.

They're free at most shelters and they keep folks off your porch.

Love the color of that dog! What is he?? Beautiful dog.

Edit: I went back to look at your last comment, so I assume he's a French Brittany.

If you don't mind, send me some info about where he came from and any other info you think might be pertinent.

Just saw this post. I have a ESS that will be 9 in April. All I can say is get one. Best dog I have ever had. Best dove dog I have been around and have never trained a dog in my life until her. I think she trained herself. Like saltmuct said also she is one of the most loving dog you will ever see. I now have a half boykin half English cocker that's 5 months old. All I can say right now is I hope its half as good as birdie.IMG_1426.jpg

My wife has an American cocker that is birdy as any dog I've seen. I've taken him dove hunting a couple times. He just doesn't blend in very well. I have a 9 month old boykin that is turning out to be a good bird dog as well.
