    Default Attention Silverado Owners!

This happen to me yesterday washing out the bed of my truck! I literally sprayed the paint off with my water hose. Have never been so pissed of in my life. Truck is a 2014 Silverado Z71 with 20,000 miles. Only thing I’ve ever had in the back of truck is a cooler and some empty drink cans. If you look at the tailgate you can see the big flakes of paint that came off.

Look at the positive, now you have a good excuse to get a spray in Bedliner

Take it back to the dealer and let us know how well the dealers customer service and GM's customers service is.

Thats the problem. Did some reading up on this issue on 14-15 model Silverados and they have many issues with paint peeling in the bed, front doors, side of bed, and quarter panels. Called two dealerships today and they won’t do anything because it is out of the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

I call bullshit on the 3 year 36k. Call GM and see what they say. I know at BMW it was 5 years on paint. My tech rep had to come personally inspect it to call it warranty. We as the dealer couldn't make that call.

That is my plan tomorrow KRT. The dealerships around where I live are a joke anyway.

We must not of bailed out the GM paint department.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

If it's anything like the problem in the early 1990's then it's more than just the paint. You had to go down to bate metal to fix it properly because of primer issues. Most peeled out of warranty and GM didn't do a thing about it. Ask me how I know! Still a GM fan but customer service sucked on that occasion.

My 2014 did the same thing, but I was using the tailgate for a work bench. It got brake cleaner on it. I stopped using the brake cleaner..... I'm wondering why you continued to wash it out?

Anyway, just rhino line it. Much better in the long run, and they will remove that shitty paint.

I'd get them to pay for a spray-in liner, or at least half of it if they're being dicks about it.

Post it up on Twitter and use a bunch of tags that reference GM.

I'm pretty sure you'll get a decent outcome.
