Yep - the chicken beaks, pretty much, are stripping seeds off of the grass. Clappers, on the other hand, will gobble periwinkles like candy...but they're not terrible either...with salt and black pepper...and soy sauce...

This is an awesome post! I don't even know what a sora is.
I love a BSS 20ga. I have owned several of them over the years, but somebody always likes them enough to pay more than I can stand to turn down. I still have an early Citori Sporter 20ga choked C/IC that is great for close in shooting and is obviously one hell of a quail killer.
    Congrats on all the fun!

So with me moving back home are we finally going to be able to get to share a hunt? Looking forward to enjoying more of the simpler side of bird hunting in South Carolina on my return. Not interested in battling it out with the younger generation anymore.
Living in Moncks Corner but looking forward to moving back to the West Coast in 2020 where there are more ducks and less duck hunters!! LOL

    I'd love to.

I quit fighting the crowds too. I'll get up late on opening morning and head somewhere very unpopular/underpopulated and be happy with a duck or two.

What is the boat setup for shooting rails? Regular john boat/duckboat setup?

I sold my old 14 foot Duracraft with the middle seat for a 14 foot War Eagle with a secondary deck. I am getting older and clumsier so decided to not risk trying to get over the middle seat anymore...this is closed to what I've got except'n I got the insulated floor added to mine...it worked great for hunting soras solo...
