This cow was spooked by a Grizzly. Glad it was her and not me that he got too close to.

My buddy, Kevin Dill, crossing the river by the spruce tree he stood behind to shoot his bull at 5 feet in 2016.

The image in my head while I eat my tag soup. Never got a shot and had this dude inside the 40 yard line 4 times.

    That's a damn nice bull.

The weather feels different there, because it is different there.

I chased there much smaller relatives on the east coast of Canada a few weeks ago, and ate tag soup for the first time in my life. It would have been easier to swallow if I was in Alaska.

Have a buddy stationed at Eilson AFB now, killed his first moose a few weeks back and send me pictures of dead stuff nearly everyday

“… duckhunting stands alone as an outdoor discipline. It has a tang and spirit shared by no other sport—a philosophy compounded of sleet, the winnow of unseen wings, and the reeks of marsh mud and wet wool. No other sport has so many theories, legends, casehardened disciples and treasured memories.”
    --John Madson, The Mallard, 1960
