If you touched your duck call while hunting with me, I would politely ask you not to blow that thing.

I'll give you credit Kayak. I didn't think you would post it. Way to man up.

And I'll give you credit in that you can work that call. Hopefully you can exercise a little moderation with it while on the water.

But lets talk about the butter tits thing. It was funny the first time, but it too needs to be used in moderation.

Conversely if you are not blowing your call, and I do not care if you are 15 or 85, get with the fucking program. Make wild ducks do what you want them to do or take up bowling...

Yep - calling is the primary ingredient in a well-hunted duck.

Getting to the X is obviously the most important ingredient, but you still have to finish the deal...

I would suggested talking them into doing something they really don't want to do has merit.

Furthermore, as I have posted here a hundred times, 3 decoys in the back of a slough with no calling can be death on late season puddle ducks. But we all know that is just good management, duck hunting be damned...

Nothing better than hammering down on a Mondo in the timber in Arkansas to bring them mallards down. Then finishing them as they get closer with a few clucks and tics to drop them feet in the spread.

i promise you I have convinced more than a few ducks to land where they don't normally hang out.

Kayak, take it as you will....

    Ditch your entire chuckle/feed routine.

If you are indeed hunting puddle ducks on public water in South Carolina, hell even private water..... you don't need it. It's useless.

I'd venture to say it's useless in damn near any decoying scenario. Believe it or don't.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Need to work on your cadence kayak and your feed. Don't listen to bog about your feed call , you can kill ducks with only a feed on public water in January , especially when you can get the hens to cluck back in the air. I string single clucks together in short burst, forget the rolling feed bullshit.

When the hens tuck their wings, and fall through the branches, you know you have done your job....

75% of public puddle duck hunting in SC is convincing a duck that you (your decoys) are a safe hang out after he's been run off his usual loaf. ie: private land. (Impoundment)

He's not coming out to feed....he's coming to rest.

    Again.....feed chatter is irrelevant.

Agreed.. only time I chuckle is at very first light to try to convince them my deeks are feeding. But after good light I don't chuckle anymore not in this state anyway. By then its time to use the whistle.
