Colder winter this year in the northeast, mid Atlantic and northern Great Plains? Might be nice....

I remember walking out probably 50 yards on my pond to retrieve a duck one morning. Ice was like 2 or 3 inches thick! We had about 4 days in a row where the highs were 30's and lows were teens. Pretty cool.

I watched a Volkswagen Beetle ride around on the Williamston Reservoir in the 70's. Ain't nobody tried it since then that I know of though

The blackbirds don't predict the severity of the winter - only the date of first frost.

I remember around Christmas 1983, on a dog drive, watching a buck run out onto a frozen creek and fall flat on the ice, get up, and fall again. The third time he fell was because I gave him a face full of 00b.

Two degrees cooler than last year, still 85 degrees at Christmas. Trust a weatherman if you want.

Will this do us any good if it's accurate?

Won't do me much good if it happens. I've heard drier than average/wetter than average/2 degrees colder than average/2 degrees warmer than average/more snow than average /less snow than average and finally average. If I add it all up and average it I get ....well you know. I'll know for sure in April how it was.

If you are lookin for a big push of ducks from here it might be a bit.The lower great lakes are plenty warm.Next 2 weeks here look like daytime highs between 35 and 40 and night time 28 to mid 30s.

    Sunview lake off Caughman Rd?
That was my stomping grounds as a kid 1970 thru 1978.

We shot a few ducks off that little bridge on the upriver side of the lake.

Ha. I was a little behind you but my parents house has a view of the lake now that they cut all the trees on the Teague road side.

I knew a lot of the Teagues that lived on that road. I used to fish and frog gig that little pond in the sharp curve.

I can’t even begin to count the number of fish I caught out of those ponds around there when I was a kid.
