I had a buddy down from Ohio this weekend. We hunted Friday night, and couldn't get within 50 yards of any of the 8 gators we saw, in a 5 hour span. Got out on a different river Saturday afternoon, and didn't see anything during daylight, except for a good 11'+ gator that some boys arrowed and didn't follow up on and it died. Damn shame to struggle to get close on a small one, and then someone arrows one and can't even follow up on it.

My Ohio guy did arrow an 8'10" one at 8:30pm, within a few hundred yards of the boat ramp. Good way to end the season for me.

Glad you ended up getting one Bear! Carried another fella yesterday afternoon, and we were able to get another nice 11 footer.

Gator hunting ain't for everybody. I don't have any desire to apply again but I'll help someone out if they're struggling to get on one. The way gators act nowadays is totally different than they acted in 2008-2011, unless of course you find one that nobody has ever messed with.
