    Default Maxus not cycling shells

I got a steal on a 3.5 Maxus last Fall and it sat in the safe until I decided to shoot it on the dove opener. Shot it well and used it all week. After 15 boxes of shells it turned into a single shot on yesterday mornings hunt. I field stripped it and cleaned the carbon buildup around gas piston on magazine tube. That didnt help-much. It would the cycle 1 out of 3. Stovepiping as well.

Got home from the hunt and broke it down completely-short of pulling action spring. I cleaned it well and re-assembled. That didn't help either. Still having the same issues.

New shotgun with less than two cases through it should not be having these issues. Winchester Heavy Game loads, not light loads.

    Any suggestions?

Pull the spring out the stock.

Had the same issue with my sx3 starting off, cleaned the stock spring and has been good to go ever since

Seeing these soulless vanilla ice lookin Yankees on a bassboat is worse than watching a woman get her implants taken out. It's just wrong. Get back in your Lund and go back to infisherman.

My spring in the stock broke and had to be replaced after one season. No problems since.

The gas ring is very prone to cracking. I'd bet the bank you have a small crack or burr on it somewhere causing it to hang up

Lightly lubed. Like wet a rag and then wipe it on there

Just removed action spring. Not broke and relatively clean.

Trust me it's the gas piston ring. Google maxus cycling issues and it comes up 990 times

I've read about this with the maxus and sx3, but I was under the impression it didn't need to be done until after a substantial round count through the gun

After I cleaned the action spring and put everything back together it cycled three shells fine. Will see how it does later this week on a shoot.
