Was your child when you let them shoot their first deer? And with what caliber did you start them with?

My oldest killed his at seven w his 410
Mine was 6 & shooting 243
I didn't encourage or push, I made them ask to do so and then talked to them about what it really meant, my son and step son were both 13 and my oldest grandson was 12.
Mine was 10 and he shot it with a .243
Daughter was 12. 243 H & R
I hope to put mine on one this year. 7 with a 410
I was 8 and killed my first deer with a 410 hand loaded buckshot
No kids but I killed my first when I was 8 with a .243.
My oldest was is 12 and killed her first last year. My youngest is 10 and hasn't pulled the trigger. I don't think it's an age thing though. They have to have confidence. You have to have the same in them. It's different for each child.
Edit to say... it was a single shot .243. She dropped her in its tracks. I couldn't have been more proud.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
You might take out a dozen before they drag you from your home and skull fuck you to death. Marsh Chicken 6/21/2013

Age 6 , 223 single hammer for my son. I was 9 with HR Topper 20, #3 buck. Cajun there are a ton of variables when it comes to this topic, the earmuffs that the kid can hear you talk are very helpful.
My daughter got her first elk at age 14 in Wyoming with a 35 Whelen
