Can't wait to see what these guys look like next year.

They have made it to the "pass list" for the upcoming season

It's a good thing you and I don't hunt close to each other.

Are the first 2 the same deer? They both look to have the double throat patch.

    I thought so as well.

While he is chubby, I'm almost positive he is 4. I watched the deer for hours on end last year and bet he didn't weigh 150lbs. Here he is last year at what I believe to be 3.5

I would shoot him and check his jaw to make sure, but that's just me.

It's all perspective. This is the only piece of property that I hunt where these deer would be let go. Any other place I would be actively hunting these deer when season comes in.

We have created a Co-Op with like minded clubs that now takes up about 25,000 acres. So passing a deer like this is a little easier

    Amazing.

All they need is age. People bitch about minerals or big and beasty or glacial soils....let them hit 4.5 or 5.5 years of age above everything else.

    Great pics

He may be 4 but he didn't improve drastically enough from last year to this year to warrant giving him one more year in my opinion which is of course only my opinion. Guess I'd factor in how close he stays to the highway, trigger happy neighbors, and if he roams during the season before I shot his ass. He's nice.
