Default We lost a giant today...

Big Alan Wooten was killed this morning in an ATV accident while hunting hogs as he loved to do. He went out with his boots on, by God...

Don't know the fella but I will certainly send up prayers for the ones he left behind.

Do you know any details? Not that it matters but I ALWAYS talk to my kids and try to show them things like this when it happens, just to reinforce my point about the danger of them.

I flipped my 1200 lb commercial zero turn over on me back in late May and was trapped under it for 20 minutes before I was found. Talk about your life flashing before your eyes. When it flipped and that motor oil started smoking I thought I was gonna burn to death on the side of that road.

Prayers for the Wooten family, the Camden area has lost some great men in the last few years.

We were in English swamp cleaning up the roads when we got the call. My wife's sister is married to Justin and I have known the family for years. He was a great man and will be missed!

Prayers up for the family. Sounds like he left this ball of dirt doing what he loved. Too few of us will get to do that. Godspeed.

I won't eulogize the man here. We will get together in Boykin shortly and do that. I will say that, other than my father, there were 6 men who taught me what being a Woodsman was all about. Half of them are gone as of today...

Damn. It is hard to imagine that something in this world is tough enough to kill Alan. I missed a call earlier and now I know the reason for that call. That was one tough SOB and the world isn't quite as good of a place this afternoon, but to go out doing something you love is a blessing. Prayers sent to his family. Goodness

Them that don't know him won't like him, and them that do sometimes won't know how to take him

He ain't wrong, he's just different, and his pride won't let him do things to make you think he's right
