The opposite could be said as well. If a guy can't hold off til after the hunt, maybe he has a problem. I was taught alcohol and guns don't mix as a youngun. I still hold to that today.

The government mixes Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Why shouldn't we?

I couldn't hunt anything when its less than 30 degrees without rock & rye. I stash half pints all over the place. Let a green jeans ask me about my bottle when its cold....I'm gonna say, "What do want me to do...catch pneumonia! "

I think regardless of whether you feel comfortable with drinking and shooting is irrelevant. A sober man can make a mistake with a beer in his hands and set himself up for a lifetime of problems.

I'm not going on a dove hunt if I can't drink beer. It goes hand in hand.

True, however a man who has been drinking will also find himself with a lifetime of problems, but he gets to deal with those while in prison. I will wait until after the hunt is over. Also, how many of you were taught that alcohol and guns mix? I never heard those words. As a matter of fact I think that is one of the Five commandments of gun safety.

I have great friends who drink like fish, they would NEVER hunt with me again if they got to drinking in the dove field. I worry about a man that can't wait two hours to have a beer.

It doesn't take long at all to get a limit. Just wait until after.

It's just gross to think about. At some point it's a given that they've drank their own pee.

Shit, I drink beer almost every hour that I'm awake, so I'll probably drink a couple while I'm dove hunting. To be safe, I'll drink a little water in between beers. LOL

Ralph, I think they're talking about Fish, not fish. Either way, I'd bet that Fish has probably tried to drink his own pee at least once.
