    Default Fruit Trees

Planning to plant some fruit trees this winter. Probably 50-75 fruit trees with some more oaks. Looking for some variety and something that will be here for years to come.

So far I have crabapples and a few pears on my list. But jujube and pawpaws sound appealing. Already have some persimmons, so not planning to plant anymore of those.

What have you planted that have worked well? Anyone tried the blight resistant chestnut trees?

I should also add they will be planted in a linear fashion rather than a grove in case that affects the pollination of some of them.

    Pollination effects should be nonexistent.

However, plant them however you'd like.

I have a bunch of pear trees planted in 2 different places and generally have thousands of pears on the ground during hunting season. I bought them from Hallman Farms in Chapin who has a good selection of fruit trees. Benny is a hunter also. Deer will eat the heck out of them but to me they are not the attractant that I thought they may be. They are not the first thing they run to after getting up. I love eating them myself and pick up some on the way to the stand sometimes and make pies and fried pears out of them.

I only hunt on days that end in "y"!

That span of sawtooths next to those jujubes and pears is where my dad was attacked by the coyote.
