    Default Eclipse 2017

Sorry, I didn't have an expensive filter. I used a pair of paper Eclipse glasses, two rubberbands and a paper plate to make a filter...

    Looks like the moon.

Question, why do you need the filter for you camera. Just to black everything else out?

Without the filter in can burn up the lens in the camera just like your eye.

I was running a decent filter, but in the outdoor light wasn't able to preview how I was doing.... and later found out I'd forgotten to check my ISO. Which was WAY high. But I was able to salvage some stuff. These are SEVERELY cropped due to my limited lens length and other issues.

Totality - no filter, adjusted in PS. Solar prominences...

Post-totality - filter in place, ISO mistake caught.

Wow Swamp Rat. I was in Fort Mill so I didn't get the total eclipse. I love the one with the solar flares showing.

    Great pics, Gentlemen.

I didn't have any filters and decided not to mess with it, but took pics and a couple of videos before, during and after that give an idea of the changes. I need to figure out how to edit the videos down in size to post at the one I got right as 'Totality' hit that's pretty cool. It was like someone turned out the lights at midnight since I was located about 1/2 mile North of the path itself.

Wow, way better than mine. I used the $2 solar glasses as a filter.
