Default tags must be "in your possession"?

If my tags are back at camp in my ATV while I'm hunting, as long as I tag the deer before moving it, am I legal?

I'd argue that I am indeed in possession of my tags when they are in my ATV. If it were a bag of dope or anything else illegal, they'd surely charge me with possession.

Can you leave your turkey tags in your truck or you atv at camp?

My interpretation of the way the new law is worded is that the tags must actually be on your person while hunting. Just my opinion.

The motha fuggin tags are for transportation and hanging only. They aren't like a 2nd license that must be on you at all times.

If the GW asked to see your tags say I haven't killed anything so you don't need them. Not a damn thing they can do. But before you say anything, give him the raised eyebrow like The Rock, pull out and light a cigarett, then tell him you nor him need to see them.

Ok I have a new question. We have buck and doe tags for the club, so I cant use my tags on the club. Do I still need to carry my tags when hunting on the club?

Sorry cotton just like turkey tags you need at least one legal tag in your possession while hunting.

Sorry BigT, the rule book does not state that anywhere. It does state that for turkeys but not deer.

Yes it does in the proper tagging instructional on the website, but don't let me bring facts into the argument. We know you don't like those.

That's cute that you found that "online". When I go for my court date I will be presenting the "official state regulations guide" to the magistrate for them and the charging warden to show me where it says I must have the tags on my possession. I don't care what the interweb says, the paper manual is the "Bible" of hunting and fishing rules.

This sounds like a good opportunity to request a jury trial to hose up an hour in the court system over some dumb shit and to show how law enforcement has gone from "being helpful to revenue minded."

I'm glad you have all the free time in the world to fight some bullshit like that. How hard it is to carry a tag. Can't fix stupid.
