    Well it's been almost a month and no word yet on the return of my rifle. Hopefully someone will give me an explanation of what the problem was and what, if anything was done to correct it. I'm itching to kill a deer with it.

    Are you saying the split ammo was still in the mag , never cycled? PM me in the morning.

    Did you measure the oal on the case and the oal on the cartridge?Since I assume it's factory it is crimped , but some might have not crimped, tooling wear with use or off sized brass can cause a problem. Set back could be caused by loose neck tension, bullets out of tolerance, number of things could be the culprit.Does the gun have a short throat, it doesn't appear that is the issue since there are no marks on the bullet. My 1st thought is bad brass, I have bought bags of brass with bad pieces in it from the factory, not unusual, I have had brass spilt after the 1st firing.
