I couldn't care less about Jake Bentley, or whether he is the next Heisman winner or a bust. But this crap about his age is getting old. He is a sophomore this fall, and turns 20 in November. My son is a sophomore, and turns 20 in January. Bentley is not any younger than most sophomores in college. Sure, he graduated early, but I am betting he got held back somewhere in middle school for some reason. Maybe he went ahead and graduated after his junior season because he was too old to play in High School??? (I do not know this, I am just asking). But at any rate, this is no infant out there playing with big boys, his age is right on schedule.

His age was an issue because people made it an issue when in reality it wasn't. He graduated early, but was held back best I can tell so his age was where it should be. Countless times it was stated that "he should still be in high school" and other drivel when in fact he was the same age as other freshmen.

I find it funny.

I think Chris Lammons is being overlooked as a Heisman candidate. Reports say that he is playing every position in the secondary in camp, and he was able to complete a full round of dizzy bat while covering Artavis Scott last year. I think he's supposed to be in 8th grade
