Default SC high school kid makes ESPN top 10, Zion Williamson

Not much of a basketball fan at all, even though I played the game, but yesterday I had a HS coach in my office and he was telling me about this kid at an Upstate private HS named Zion Williamson.

Flipped on ESPN this am in he was in the Top 10 plays, thunderous windmill dunk in upstate championship game where he scored 51pts.

Lot of folks comparing him to Lebron

Anyone seen this kid play in person, watched some of his youtube highlights and all I can say is WOW, however I did notice that he plays with against a "bunch of little white kids" as well

He's been on the radar for a while. Unreal athletic for his age. Size, athleticism, a good foundation of skill. He seems to be a one trick pony, though. He hasn't had to do anything but put his head down and dunk the basketball. I would be a little worried about his progression at the next level. Absolutely not taking anything away from him, and the sky is the limit for him, but his highlights don't show much in the way of anything but thunder dunks.

Spartanburg Day School is going to have to replace a lot of rims next year.

He's a freak athlete. 16 yrs old, 6'8" and 230 lbs. His high school games are a joke. I would like to see some video of his summer league play. To be the #2 ranked recruit in the country, he has had to of played against some better competition somewhere.

I know Upstate basketball is not exceptionally strong, but it does make you wonder why he plays for SDS.

It doesn't look like he knows how to pass at all. What happens when he goes up against people that are actually his size?

Because they recruited him and gave him a "free scholarship"

air raid with his opinion on sports again....

Seventh Woods played at Hammond (scisa) and has played in every game as a freshman for chapel hill this year.

zion is an incredible player and goes up against plenty of talent, for those that actually have any clue.

Roy Williams, Coach K, and the basketball scouts are probably wrong about this 6'8 junior that moves like a point guard, can jump out the gym, and shoots very well from 3.
