Default 1 acre farm pond, aquatic weeds and carp

I have a one acre pond with a low growing, fine, light green grass that grows on the whole pond bottom. Lately it has been letting go in mats and floating all over the surface. Anyone know anything about this by chance and if those 10 dolla sterile carp will eat it? Thank you in advance to all armchair pond managers with an opinion.

    We use Karmex for this.

    Sounds like naiads.

    Carp will do the trick.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

I've been able to keep it under control with pond fertilizer. As long as I keep the water murky with regular blooms, the weed doesn't grow much. Nonetheless, I might also try a few carp next year just to see how well they work.

Thank you for the thoughts Gentlemen. My google search is telling me between 5-15 carp/acre depending on how thick the vegetation is and how quickly you want it reduced/eliminated.

Palmetto Bug - I definitely think that is an issue with the pond as well, the water is crystal clear.

Are there any negatives to having the carp hanging around in a fish pond?
